Well, its been a busy week. My in-laws were in town from upstate NY from Thursday until this morning. They were here for E's birthday which was on Saturday. We had a lovely time and I took my MIL to Hobby Lobby...she was in heaven. Talk about sensory overload for her. We picked up knitting needles, yarn and she taught me how to knit and was the perfect teacher. So, I guess I hit the jackpot with my Mom teaching me how to sew and my MIL teaching me to knit. Thanks Mom H & Mom S!!
For Sewing class today, we had to bring in our sewing machines, fabric and other supplies needed for class. BTW, if anyone is interested in a very easy to use, stable and durable sewing machine tote bag visit Tutto Luggage. They have all different types of luggage to meet all your needs.
Our instructor Sue had us cut out our fabric for our reversible tote bag. I love the patience Sue has with us. Regardless if you never sewed, are a beginner or advanced Sue is exactly the type of instructor I love learning from and I actually thrive more in that type of environment. I will post pictures next week of the process the tote bag went through.
I have missed reading all of your blogs and I am currently in the process of doing so. Also, thank you for all of your lovely and sweet comments you posted last week.
Happy Birthday E!!! I hope you had a wonderful birthday and all of your wishes come true!! I love you so very much!!
Sharing my love of sewing, knitting, beading/jewelry making, photography, paper crafts, cooking and baking.

You and your sewing class are inspiring me! I have been attempting to do more sewing but seriously lack patience to use patterns... I am persevering, however... :)

Oh I had sewwwww much fun this last class...we were almost done with the bags when she called time! I feel so confident now! It really is easy...we'll see though when i have to follow a pattern...
ReplyDeleteAlisha, how long will the certification take you? I'm only here for my hub's MCCC stint and then we may be moving...not sure if I have enough time, but maybe I can fit a couple more classes...
Let's keep in touch!!
Oh how fun! I would really love to sew more (and learn how to sew better), but it's just not in the cards right now.
ReplyDeleteHave fun finishing your bag and learning to knit!
Stopping by from SITS to say hi =)
I checked out that Tutto site and that bag is TOTALLY neat! Thanks for the info on that...i'm going to check into it. I always miss having my machine at crops, LOL! :)
ReplyDeleteI want to let you know that I have a BIG give-a-way starting on Sunday and it will be really fun. I am calling it SPREADING THE LOVE--cuz I love my FOLLOWERS. There are lots of gifts, from really cool vendors. Each week there will be SEVERAL winners--that is right it will be going on all month long. So you can come back each week and leave me a comment, to put your name in.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to have a blog--you can e-mail me to enter your name.
Followers get their name in once and if you have my button on your side bar your name will go in 5 more times.
If you can double check your READER to see if you are getting my posts I would really appreciate it--for some reason Google has picked on me since the start of my blog and I always end up having them not post every few weeks.
XO
Cheri
Love that you are taking classes, I just started taking time to sew more again. I love it, having a hobby that lets me create is so much fun. I can't wait to see the bag and everything you make in the future.

hey, thanks for stopping by my blog! I just popped over here and can't get over how much we have in common - I'm from LI (brooklyn is technically on it :), my hubby is from upstate, and when he was in the army we were at Ft. Gordon, GA - funny, huh?
