Crimson Tide Thank You Gift Package

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to make a special "thank you" gift package for E's boss. She was a very good boss to E while he worked with her and especially since he was "out-processing" for his retirement from the Military.
I was told by E that she was a very big University of Alabama (Crimson Tide) Football fan. E showed her my blog and the different types of bags that I have sewn over the years. She loved the Lapin Noir bag by Sara @ Sew Sweetness.  I added an extra zipper pocket on the backside of the bag for more storage.

If you want to see the other bags that I made out of this pattern, you can view them here and here.

I also decided to make a travel neck pillow for her busy travel schedule and a journal (fabric and journal I found on Joann's website).

Have a wonderful day!!

Reisende Bag - Test Pattern

Hello Everyone,

I completed another beautiful pattern for Sara at Sew Sweetness. This bag is called the Reisende Bag and I love how it came out. This bag is available in 3 different sizes, from purse sized up to a large bag perfect for a long weekend. A beautiful buckle and purse hardware gives your bag that smart and sophisticated look. There is also optional piping that gives your bag that finished look.

The large size that I chose finished measurements are  19" long x 12" tall x 5" deep. You can store so much inside your bag and I love all the other added details that make this bag attractive. There are zippered pockets inside, a zipper closure and optional purse feet.

I already have my fabric picked out for my next bag (medium size), so stay tuned.

I fell in love with the bright and vibrant beach cabanas for summer. The fabric, zippers and thread are from Joann. The buckles and loops are from Strapworks.

As always, I love all the detail and thought that Sara puts into all of her bags. Her instructions are and pictures always easy to follow. If you ever have a question, she is always available to assist you.

If you would like to purchase this pdf pattern, hardware and notions, please stop by Sara's pattern shop. The pattern is available in her shop after June 3, 2016.

Rockstar Bag

Hello Everyone,

I had the pleasure of doing another test pattern for Sara at Sew Sweetness. The pattern is called the Rockstar Bag.

You have to stop by and check out all the other rockin' bags that were made here.

I saw this fabric in a local store in Germany and I just knew I had to use it for this particular bag. It just screamed Rockstar. I didn't add the rivets to the outside pocket because I thought the fabric had a lot going on. The bag is a nice size (9 1/2" long x 10" tall x 7" deep) and has a detachable strap. I also loved the handles and of course using purse fee. Sara's instructions are always very precise and I always love testing a bag for her.

I love the added piping on the sides. I used bigger cording so the piping would really pop. This was my first time making bias tape. I followed the instructions at Sew4Home which had great instructions and pictures to follow along.

I used my husband's Fender amp to give that Rockstar vibe.

That is my husband's blue Fender Stratacaster in Lake Placid blue which also adds to the Rockstar vibe of this bag.

If you are interested in purchasing the Rockstar Bag sewing pattern, it is now available in Sara's pattern shop!

Edelweiss Backpack

Hello Everyone,

I had the pleasure of testing another pattern from Sara at Sew Sweetness. This beautiful back pack is called the Edelweiss Backpack and I love how it came out. This fabulous bag can be made as either a backpack or a cross-body bag. There are pretty flap pockets on the front, as well as both a zip closure and flap at the top of the bag and an inner zipper pocket. The finished size is: 15-1/2” long x 12” tall x 5” deep.

When I heard the name of this backpack I couldn't wait to make it. I knew it was fate. We are posting to Germany in a few weeks and I thought this would be perfect for when we go sightseeing. I fell in love with this fabric that I got at Joann Fabric Store and thought it was perfect for this backpack. The pattern was easy to follow and is perfect for someone who is at an intermediate level. This is the first backpack I have ever madeI can't wait to use it!!

The pattern is available for purchase as a pdf file in Sara's pattern shop.

Park West Bag - Pattern Review for Sew Sweetness

Hello Everyone,
I completed another beautiful pattern from Sara at Sew Sweetness. This bag is called the Park West Bag and I love how it came out. This bag is for a beginner, intermediate or experienced sewer. I fell in love with this geometric and colors of the fabric that I got at Joann's.  I loved all the detail that Sara put into this bag (actually all of her bags) and her instructions are always easy to follow. If you ever have a question, she is always available to assist you.

I used four 1 1/2" metal rectangle rings for the handles.

I love the side pockets on both sides of the bag.

This was the first time I inserted a recessed zipper and I love how it came out.

I love adding these metal feet to the bottom of the bags and how it matches the metal rectangle rings for the handles.

I also found at Joann's this coordinating fabric and inserted a false bottom to give the bag more stability.

I love having zippered pockets inside of my bags. Maybe on the next one I'll put a zipper on the other side or some pockets. I guess we will see.

If you would like to purchase this pdf pattern, please stop by Sara's pattern shop.

Aragon Test Pattern and Happy Fall!

Hello Everyone,

I had the pleasure of testing another bag pattern for Sew Sweetness.  You can see her post on this bag here. If you want to purchase the pattern, here is her Shop.  I love how this bag is useful in so many ways.  When I saw the bag I knew it would be perfect for when I have to go to the library to study for school and it will also be perfect when I go shopping too.
I love the fall colors and the gingham. The pockets on the side are perfect for my phone and/or water bottle.

Have I mentioned I love gingham?? Well, I do. LOL The inside pockets are great and I love the finished look of the binding on the seams on the inside. It makes it look neat and put together.

There is also a zipper compartment on the other side.

Also, another zip is on the back of the bag.

So, I am loving my new fall bag and have already been getting compliments on it.
