Nautical Tote Bag

Hello,

I made another tote bag using the Lapin Noir pattern from Sara at Sew Sweetness.

I loved all of the details she included in the pattern, like an outside pocket for your cell phone, an outside zippered pocket, two different types of handles for either your shoulder or over your wrist, a zippered pocket inside and two additional pockets inside.

I also added an extra zipper on the back of the tote for more storage. I also used 3 different colored zippers red, white and blue.

I can't wait to sport this tote around town.

Also, I am testing another pattern for Sara and that will be posted soon.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Independence Day, commonly known as July 4th or the Fourth of July, commemorates the Continental Congress’ adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The document, primarily written by Thomas Jefferson, served as a formal announcement that the 13 American colonies were no longer part of the British Empire and would henceforth be free and independent states. Regarded as the birthday of the United States of America, the day is typically celebrated with parades, fireworks, ceremonies, barbecues and family gatherings. The Fourth of July is America's birthday -- our most patriotic celebration. 

For Military families locally with loved ones serving in Afghanistan it holds special meaning. To everyone who currently serving and or a Veteran, I say Thank you. Thank you for the sacrifices you have made in the past, and for the sacrifices you are making now, or will make in the future. Without you, our country would not have such a history to be proud of, and we would not be able to continue to make history. You are among the bravest, most courageous, dedicated, compassionate and hard working people of our nation; you are the best of the best. On this Fourth of July, be proud, be proud of who you are, what you have done and what you do, and know that no matter what happens, America is behind you!

Thank you E for keeping us safe and protecting our country and our freedom!! I love you and I am so very proud of you.

I miss seeing the fireworks in lower Manhattan. When I was a kid I would watch them from the roof of the apartment building of where we grew up in Brooklyn with my family, or the Brooklyn Promenade or we would go into the city to watch them from the East Side. There was something so magical seeing the the skyline light up with beautiful colors and hearing the patriotic music to go along with it.

This year, I can't wait for us to go see the fireworks in our hometown. It will be the first time we get to see the fireworks over Boldt Castle in Alexandria Bay, NY.

Test Pattern for Sew Sweetness' Lapin Noir Bag

I was honored to do a test pattern for Sara at Sew Sweetness. I had so much fun working on this bag.

The instructions were so easy to follow and I love how the bag came out. I already purchased fabric for the next tote I am going to make with this pattern. I can't wait to show you the next one I will do.

Another Vinyl Amp Cover for E's GDEC

Hello Everyone,

I made another amp cover for E's GDEC. I was able to make this one right before we left Canada too. I wanted to make sure it was protected in the move.

He loves designing these custom for each of his amps and I love making them for him. The Fender patches were purchased on Fender's website.

Update and E's lounge pants

Hello Everyone,

 We are all set up in our new home and absolutely loving it. I finished E's lounge pants before we packed up and moved out of Canada. He loved the fabric so much that we bought more and I will use it to make another button down shirt for him.

My sewing/craft studio is still a work in progress. E will be building me a cutting table, cabinets and crafting table. It is painted and artwork is hung and I have been a busy bee in there (I'll be posting more this week).

We had my in-laws visit for Mother's Day and we had a lovely time together. Two weeks after that my in-laws visited again with E's Aunt and Uncle from France. We had such a wonderful time together and were sad to see them go. We went on the Uncle Sam's Thousand Islands boat tour and took a tour of Boldt Castle. If you are ever up in NNY, you must visit this beautiful castle and the beautiful story behind it. I took my MIL and Aunt to Fort Drum and E and his Dad and Uncle to the Boldt Castle Yacht House. We also went to downtown Alexandria Bay and did some shopping and had dinner at Cavallario's Steak and Seafood House for our Anniversary dinner. The food was excellent.
