My husband is a huge NY Yankee fan. I wanted to make him comfy lounge pants for the wet and raw evenings we have here. Here is my dilemma...I cut the wrong size. My mind was elsewhere when I was cutting the pattern. So, now they are going to be my NY Yankee lounge pants LOL. Good thing I am a huge fan too. We both got a good laugh out of it.
Update: I tried the lounge pants on and they were too big. When E came home from his very long TDY (Temporary Duty) in Poland, he tried them on and they fit him perfectly.
I used Simplicity pattern #2503 (option A). The pattern was easy to follow, it has a cute pocket, drawstring and elastic in the back.
Last time, I used McCall's pattern #4244 to make these lounge pants for him here.
Tomorrow, I plan on using the correct pattern, using NY Ranger's fabric and make lounge pants for E. I will make it up to him, pick up the same NY Yankee fabric and make him lounge pants from this pattern too. He deserves it!!!

I made pants for k-ster this summer and thought I'd start making them instead of buying them. They came out fine, but after I added up the cost of the material, even with coupons, they were far more expensive than the $5 pair I was able to get at a discount store nearby. And he doesn't love my home made type any better than the store bought kind, so I think I'll stick to sewing just for me!
ReplyDeleteI know it costs more to make, but, I enjoy seeing the look on his face when I give him something I made for him. The 2 button down shirts that I made - he brags to everyone that I made it for him. That's what its all about for me :-)
